Dimitris Papageorgiou is Professor at the Department of Cultural Technology and Communication, University of the Aegean, Director of the Laboratory of Sound, Image and Cultural Representation. Currently he is Vice-Rector of the University. His research interests include Cultural Theory and Digital Culture, Hermeneutical approach of the concepts of identity, culture, community in specific historical, economic and social contexts, Symbolic interaction and cultural practices defining identities, with emphasis on youth subcultures, Systemic Theory and Communicative Systems, Multimedia, ICT and Representation of Cultural Content and Social Media.
